| You need to look after your pet's teeth, just like you do your own. Here are some ways you can care for your pet's teeth at home:
1. Brush your pet's teeth daily with a soft toothbrush and pet toothpaste. This is very important to your pet's dental health and can even help prevent some liver, kidney and heart diseases. Click here for step-by-step instructions and a video on how to brush your pet's teeth.
2. Give your pets chew toys that help prevent plaque. Some good ones are Greenies, Gumabones, Rhinos, N-Bones, Plaque Attackers and C.E.T. chews.
3. Use a daily antibacterial oral rinse or gel when you can't brush.
4. A dental diet food might be needed for your pet. We recommend Prescription Diet® Canine t/d® and Feline t/d® , which is formulated to decrease the accumulation of plaque and tartar. See our Retail Items section. A dental diet does not replace daily brushing; alone it has the benefit of brushing once a week. | |
