Sedation and Anesthesia

We use the most modern sedatives and inhalants available to make any anesthetic procedure as safe as possible for your pet. This includes monitoring your pet's vital signs with the latest in monitoring equipment.

Prior to anesthetizing a patient, we do a complete physical examination and recommend that we do pre-anesthetic blood testing, to identify any pre-existing medical conditions that might affect your pet's health.

During all anesthetic procedures, a technician closely monitors the patient's vital signs at all times (such as body temperature, heart rate, respiration and other important factors), using the most up-to-date equipment, including Doppler blood pressure, pulse oximetry and other cardiac monitoring equipment. Our heated oxygen cages can assist us in maintaining your pet's body temperature and can provide additional oxygen if needed.
Pain management is a part of our anesthetic protocol. All surgical patients receive a pain control injection. Our staff will discuss post-anesthesia pain management options with you.

Our modern surgical suite features state-of-the-art equipment and instruments, including cautery, suction and monitoring devices. Our heated surgery table allows us to maintain your pet's body temperature during any surgical procedures.

We are well-equipped for many soft tissue surgeries, including:

  • Spaying and neutering
  • Tumor removal
  • Cystotomies
  • Abdominal exploratories
  • ...and more!
We also do exotic animal/pocket pet surgical procedures:

  • Rabbit neuters
  • Rat tumor removals
  • Guinea pig spays
  • ...and more!
